2019 Conference Speakers
Kris Frank (Conference Emcee) - attended Franciscan University and graduated in 2008 with a degree in catechetics and theology with a youth ministry concentration. He has been a part of youth programs in Pennsylvania, Florida, and Texas. He now lives and serves as a missionary for Dirty Vagabond Ministries in Steubenville. Kris also has been privileged to travel around the country, sharing the Gospel with teens and young adults at various retreats, camps, and conferences.
Bob Rice (Conference Music) - Worship Leader Bob Rice is an acclaimed musician who has recorded numerous CDs and leads worship for over ten thousand people every year, mostly through the Steubenville Adult and Youth Conferences. He is the host of EWTN’s ”Franciscan University Presents.” Bob is also an internationally known speaker and innovative writer, and speaks at youth conferences, young-adult gatherings, men’s conferences, parish missions, and catechetical workshops. Bob has authored many books, articles, and award-winning scripts. He has a PhD in Theology from Liverpool Hope University and directs the Masters of Arts in Catechetics and Evangelization at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Steve Pokorny - is a dynamic Catholic speaker, author, and TV host who truly inspires his audience to desire and live an authentic Catholic vision for life and love. Steve is a frequent guest on Catholic radio and podcasts, from EWTN to Relevant radio and many more. Living out the gift of our Faith in a culture that rejects the Catholic values of marriage and family life can be a challenge, especially with the brokenness we find within the Church. We may be tempted to give in to doubt and despair - BE NOT AFRAID! Whether you're married or not, Steve's presentation on the power of the Holy Spirit to redeem one's life and marriage is going to inspire you to stand fast and recommit to pursuing authentic Catholic masculinity. Steve Pokorny holds a Masters in Theology with a Specialization in Catechetics from Franciscan University, as well as an MTS for Marriage and Family Studies from the John Paul II Institute. Sean O'Hare - has been an entrepreneur in both the private and non-profit sector. His business interests have included manufacturing, restaurants, and real estate. In the non-profit arena, he has acted as an advisor to the Vatican Library, several philanthropists and worked closely with Tim Tebow and his Foundation. He is proud to serve as the current Board Chairman for Students for Life of America and is a prominent Pro-Life speaker. Most recently he founded his own non-profit, 100 Million Strong, to support those with special needs and disabilities. He has spoken at over 50 universities including Duke University, University of Chicago and UCLA. O’Hare graduated magna cum laude from Rider University in 2003, where he played Division One Soccer and received the President’s Award. (HUMAN LIFE & DIGNITY)
Jimmy Mitchell - Believing deeply in the power of beauty to change the world, Jimmy Mitchell’s gift of storytelling and piano-playing brings him to every corner of the world inspiring others to realize their capacity for holiness. He’s the founder of Love Good, a subscription company in Nashville TN that empowers artists, patrons, and young people to raise their standard for media and build a better culture. Jimmy’s popular talks include “How the last-standing transcendental can win souls and evangelize culture and tales from a wandering missionary. More than anything, Jimmy enjoys time with family and friends over good music, old books, and locally roasted coffee. (EVANGELIZATION & VOCATION)
Bishop David A. Zubik (Homilist and Celebrant) - was ordained May 3, 1975; appointed Titular Bishop of Jamestown and Auxiliary Bishop of Pittsburgh February 18, 1997; appointed Bishop of Green Bay, Wisconsin, October 10, 2003; appointed Bishop of Pittsburgh, July 18, 2007. He attended Saint Stanislaus Elementary School and Saint Veronica High School, both in Ambridge, before entering Saint Paul Seminary in Pittsburgh. He received an undergraduate degree at Duquesne University in 1971 and went on to study at Saint Mary Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD, where he earned a degree in theology in 1975.
