When we first start thinking of a new place to live, we get very excited. We think of how great it will be with more room, nicer amenities, and getting out of the rut of the same-old-same-old. We think, “this is going to be great!” Then, the reality of what it’s going to take starts to sink in. This is going to take a lot of work. We start to talk ourselves out of it. We don’t have the time. We have too much going on. We’re good right where we are. But, our subconscious keeps nagging at us. “You can’t stay where you are! You NEED to move!”
That was the feeling by many at Catholic Men’s Fellowship. Our former location was fantastic! We accomplished a great deal there. But it was time to move, and we are excited for our new location. And that is our hope for you -- that this year’s conference will be your…
We are having the Tenth Annual Gathering of Catholic Men on September 19, 2015, at the David Lawrence Convention Center. First, we cannot be more thrilled for what you will experience at our new venue! The seating will be much more comfortable, and the stage setup and the quality of the sound system will make for a great conference experience! With the additional room to spread out, we have greater options available in our vendor area. We are looking to improve the food while providing nicer areas to eat. All around, the David Lawrence Convention Center is going to make for a nicer day!
Second, our lineup of speakers is top notch. We have booked Dr. Scott Hahn, Dave VanVickle, Paul George, and Deacon Harold Burkes-Sivers. Our theme is, “I have called you friends” John 15:15. Our speakers will address not only man’s challenges, but his role in the Church, society, and the family. “Men are critical to the Church and their leadership is vital”, says Paul George, our host for the day. The speaking team will affirm us on our journeys and challenge us as disciples and brothers in Christ.
Third is the sacraments, as celebrated by Bishop Zubik and our many Priests. We will begin the day with Eucharistic Adoration, a time to worship our Lord, thanking Him for our blessings, reflecting on our lives, and discerning His Will. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered throughout the day, where all will have the opportunity to feel the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. We will close the day with the Holy Mass, celebrated by our Shepherd, Bishop David Zubik.
Lastly we have new music and videos to share with you. As St. Augustine famously quotes, "He who sings, prays twice!" We are confident that this year's worship songs will dramatically enhance your spiritual experience, and provide each man with the opportunity to praise our Lord in a personal, impactful way. In addition, we have new videos to show that will inspire and challenge you!
We look forward to seeing you at the Tenth Annual Gathering of Catholic Men on September 19, 2015, at the David Lawrence Convention Center. Please consider asking a friend to join you for this amazing day!
